In a time when most films chase action, crime, love stories, or underworld thrills, Maryade Prashne arrives with something refreshingly different. A question that hits home for many: “What does it mean to live with dignity?”
This isn’t just another social drama. It’s a deeply personal story about friendship, responsibility, dreams, and the painful choices people are forced to make, just to protect their self-respect.

A Story Rooted in Reality
Maryade Prashne is not about heroes or villains. It’s about three ordinary young men from Bengaluru — Soori, Manja, and Satish. Childhood friends with different dreams. They face daily struggles like so many in India’s middle class.
Satish (played brilliantly by Sunil Rao) is the backbone of his family. His father suffers from memory loss, his mother holds the house together. And his younger sister works in a clothing store as a sales girl. Satish works as a food delivery boy and any job he finds just to keep the house running.
Soori (played by Rakesh Adiga) is a young man who dreams of entering politics and changing the system. Orphaned and raised by his mentor (Political Guru), he holds onto hope. But when he’s denied an election ticket due to lack of money, reality hits hard – society values wealth, not good intentions.
Manja (played by Poornachandra Mysore) is a cab driver. He too is orphaned, and all he wants is to build a simple home with someone he loves. That someone turns out to be Satish’s sister. This adds another layer of emotion and tension to the story.
Together, they share laughs, dreams, and disappointments. But life has a way of testing even the strongest bonds.
One Night That Changes Everything
On Satish’s birthday, three friends decide to celebrate. They don’t have much , but an old scooter and each other. After a few drinks at a bar, they’re riding back home, unaware that tragedy is just moments away.
At the same time, a group of rich young men are also partying, driving fast with loud music and zero responsibility. In a blink, their car crashes into the friends’ scooter.
And just like that, Satish’s life ends. Silently. Painfully.
What follows isn’t just about the accident, it’s about choices. Do you speak the truth, or do you accept money and keep quiet? The rich boys offer ₹40 lakhs in exchange for Satish’s life. And to remain silent on the incident. Satish’s friends are in dilema, what will people say if they admit they were drunk? Will anyone believe them that it’s not their fault?
Here, the film’s title Maryade Prashne (Question of Dignity) becomes more than just words. It becomes the moral heart of the story.
Another beautiful and unique storyline film that I have watched recently is Nodidavaru Enanthare by Naveen Shankar.
Real Emotions & Honest Performances
What makes this film stand out is how human it feels. The characters are not perfect, they make mistakes, they struggle, they cry, they compromise. And through it all, we understand their pain.
Sunil Rao’s performance as Satish is heart-touching. He showcase the helplessness of a middle class young man trying to carry the world on his shoulders.
Rakesh Adiga as Soori shows how dreams can shatter when faced with harsh truths of the corrupt society.
Poornachandra Mysore brings emotional depth as Manja, whose silent love for Satish’s sister adds layers to the narrative.
The rest of the cast including Prabhu Mundkur, Teju Belawadi, and Rekha Kudligi, do their part well. Adding emotional weight to an already intense story.
Direction, Music & Message
Director Nagaraj Somayaji handles the story with sensitivity. He doesn’t add unnecessary glamour or melodrama. Instead, he lets the characters and their emotions speak for themselves.
The screenplay by RJ Pradeep flows naturally, balancing moments of hope with those of heartbreak. The music by Arjun Ramu supports the mood of the film, simple, emotional, and meaningful.
Songs don’t interrupt the story, they blend into it, just like emotions blend into our daily lives.
Questions That Stay With You
At the end of the film, you’re left with more than just sadness. You’re left thinking:
Is dignity worth more than truth?
Would you take the money and stay silent?
What should you do when justice isn’t for the poor?
And more importantly, what would you do if your friend died because someone else was careless?
These are not just questions in a film — they’re questions many face in real life.
Maryade Prashne Is A Voice for the Voiceless
Maryade Prashne is not just a movie. It’s a reflection of the thousands of middle-class families who struggle every day — not just for food or jobs, but for respect.
It’s about friendship, sacrifice, and moral dilemmas that have no easy answers.
It reminds us that not all battles are fought with swords — some are fought in silence, with tears, with guilt, and with courage.
If you are someone who appreciates films with meaning, depth, and real-life emotions, this is a must-watch.
It might not be glamorous, but it’s honest.
It might not have a big hero, but it has a big heart.
And that’s what makes Maryade Prashne so special.
🎥 Maryade Prashne is a film that speaks softly but carries a powerful question — when it comes to truth, love, and justice, will you choose money, or will you choose dignity?
Watch it. Feel it. And maybe, you’ll find a little bit of your own story in theirs.
